Today an advanced copy of The New York Times bestselling author Karen Kingsbury’s new novel landed on my desk. My coworkers knew I wanted first peek at it, the first book in her new series called Angels Walking, which debuts September 2.
The four-book series will revolve around a team of angels who take on “missions” on earth. It’s fiction of course, but I read true angel stories for Angels on Earth all day long! And I’m afraid to start reading Karen’s novel for fear that might be the end of my workday. So now I know just what I’ll be up to this evening.
Meantime I did reread the real-life angel on earth story Karen wrote for Guideposts, when she was featured on the cover in August 2013. It was called “Encounter on the High Line,” and I won’t spoil it by saying anything about it. You must read it in Karen’s own words.
Please do click on the link to read it for yourself. It’s one of my favorite stories ever, and I don’t think even Karen Kingsbury herself could make it up!
