All About Angels

  • My Favorite Angel Movie

My daughters are off from school this week, so we’ve been enjoying some latish nights in front of the TV.

Last night we got to watch all two hours of American Idol. I sat through the entire thing without hopping up during commercials to make school lunches. What a treat! Now if only Paula hadn’t left the show…

  • Blessed to Be Stressed

I was rushing my daughter Louisiana out the door so she wouldn’t miss her bus this morning when she said, “Wait! I’m forgetting my lunch!”

I looked inside the open brown paper bag on the kitchen counter. A bottle of water. That was it. That was as far as I gotten last night before I told myself I’d get up a little bit early to finish making her lunch.

  • Majesty of the Seas

Now that it’s been warmish all week, I promised my girls we’d go up in the attic and dig out their summer clothes.

For seven-year-old Evangeline, going up in the attic for clothes is like going on an in-house shopping spree, thanks to hand-me-downs from her big sister and older girl cousins. Pull it brand-new off a rack or broken in out of a storage box, it’s all the same to Evie. And if it’s pink or sparkly, well, what could be better!

  • Thinking Ahead

You work way ahead of the calendar on a bimonthly magazine. We’re just wrapping up the May/June issue here at ANGELS ON EARTH, and sometimes I forget what time of year it is.

I wake up thinking I forgot to send my daddy a Father’s Day card, or that I have to text Mama for Mother’s Day. You see, she got a fancy new cell phone and is wild about texting. “Makes me feel young!” she says.
