All About Angels

  • What's Your Favorite Angel Song?

I got a blast from the past on the car radio this morning. Do you know Steelheart’s “I’ll Never Let You Go (Angel Eyes)”?

If you like ‘90s rock, give this screaming love song a listen. I’m putting it at the top of my angels playlist.

What’s your favorite angel song? Tell us, and we’ll post a master playlist. The only rule is, all songs must have the word “angel” or “angels” in the title. How many can we get? Go!

  • Alarm Clock Angel

Something funny—no, not the right word—amazing, I guess, happened to me this morning. My alarm clock didn’t wake me up. My guardian angel did.

It’s rare that I forget to set my alarm clock because I’m quite a sleeper. Especially in the morning. Weekends I can sleep in till 9 or even 10. I don’t feel lazy because I get up weekday mornings at the crack of dawn. If I set my alarm, that is.

  • The Spring Concert

Last night I had the pleasure of attending my daughter’s middle school spring concert. Well, I say “the pleasure” now, but until the lights went down in the crowded auditorium I did nothing but complain to Louisiana.

“It’s on a school night?” Evangeline, my second-grader, was pooped by days’ end.

“You have to be there by 6:15?” I’d have to leave work early. Again.

“Black pants and white shirt required?” We’d have to borrow something.

  • Mama Angel

Mother’s Day is Sunday and I must remember to send Mama a card this year!

I’m inconsistent in this area, a bad daughter some might say. But not my mama. When I call the day after her birthday, or weeks after her anniversary, or even late on Mother’s Day to say time just got away from me (again), she tells me not to worry.

“Aw, Colleen, you know I don’t need a card coming in the mail to know you’re thinking of me.”
