All About Angels

  • "How Can I Help?"

Ta-daaaa! I just finished filling out my online reservations for the 4-Night Bask in the Bahamas Cruise I’m hosting on July 12. After one (long) call to our travel agent and two calls to online technical support, I actually managed to do it (sort of) all by myself. Yesterday I didn’t think that would happen.

  • The Best One Ever

I know where I’d like to be this Sunday. Back home in N’Awlins, sweating in the backyard, waiting for my daddy to pass around his spicy barbecued crawfish sausage. You never tasted anything so good.

And that’s just the appetizer for our typical Father’s Day feast. Next come hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken wings, veggies and corn on the cob—all hot from Daddy’s big gas grill.

  • Up in the Clouds

I was near the end of my commute last night, going across the Tappan Zee Bridge over the Hudson. My friend Cynthia sat next to me on the bus, both of us staring out the window at blue skies, cotton ball clouds and sailboats on the calm water.

If only I could calm down, I thought.

  • Your Favorite Angel Songs

Well, you haven’t changed my mind about my favorite angel song ever (it’s still Steelheart’s “I’ll Never Let You Go”), but you did remind me of a close second in my book: “Angel Eyes” by the Jeff Healey Band (thanks, Teresa, I looked it up!).

The top two AOE Facebook favorites, with more than half a dozen votes each, were “Angels Among Us” by Alabama, and “In the Arms of an Angel” by Sarah McLachlan.
