  • Walking Away from Church and the Loss of Faith

In a LA Times article last week, Harvard sociologist Robert Putnam and his colleague David Campbell reported that more than ever, people in their twenties and thirties are giving up on church. They write, “Between 25% and 30% of twentysomethings today say they have no religious affiliation—roughly four times higher than in any previous generation.”

  • Hope and Faith from the Chilean Miner Rescue

It’s simply a marvel to be a witness to the story of the extraordinary survival and rescue of the Chilean miners in the last two days. What a tale of hope, perseverance, and joy. You can’t help but be moved by the video coming from Chile.

Except if you’ve noticed, there’s yet another story going on that’s also quite remarkable. Have you seen how much their story has captured our imagination?

  • Are You a Faith Encourager?

Most of us would like to consider ourselves encouragers. We want to help those around us by listening, passing on a piece of wisdom, or going out of our way to do something kind. Yet how often do we attempt to help others by telling them how our faith makes a difference in our own life? If that’s what’s most important to us, and guides our lives, then why not?
