All About Angels

A Working Mom's Earth Angels

Today is only the second day of school and already I’ve messed up.

A small army of college-age babysitters share after-school duty, and we are still trying to nail down a schedule for the new semester. Today not one babysitter but two showed up at the elementary school to pick up my third-grader, Evie. My fault entirely, but I suppose it is better than arranging for no babysitter to show!

Evie said it made her feel important and asked if she could have two babysitters every day. To tell the truth, I love my babysitters so much I wish we could. To my own earth angels—Marla and Jackie and Ashley and Jacqueline (and Brian, who just left for college)—you make me the luckiest working mom around.
