Angels are unsatisfiable in their longing to do by all means all manner of good unto all the creatures, ...especially the children of men.
- Richard Hooker
It’s that time of year again–Be an Angel Day–this Friday, August 22!
Be an Angel Day was founded by Jayne Howard Feldman, who wanted to be more like all the earth angels she enjoyed in her own life. Kindness just takes practice, she decided. Now every year, on August 22, that’s just what we do. Practice. And we know what practice makes.
Naturally, here at Angels on Earth, we have lots of ideas for celebrating. Of course we’ll inspire you with a couple of our favorite stories from Angels on Earth Magazine, chosen just for that day. You’ll see how helping others can actually heal you. And that absolutely anyone can be an angel.
In fact, those who seem to have the least to give can sometimes have the most to offer. To get you started, Guideposts’ Sabra Ciancanelli has put together a handy list: 10 tips on how you can be an angel.
It’s easier than you think–and more fun too. Be sure to stop by first thing Friday morning, August 22, to check out ways to take part in Be an Angel Day.
And don’t forget about us. We can’t wait to hear what you did. Tell us about your experience either on our Facebook page, Twitter account, or in the comment field below and inspire someone else. You can also send an angel ecard! Kindness can be contagious.
