All About Angels

Birthday Angels

Yesterday I turned—shhh!—51. Lots of birthday wishes, birthday blessings and birthday angels came my way.

From my daughters, who surprised me with early-morning gifts, including a leopard-print summer scarf and a leopard-print house key (and it works!).

From all five of my siblings, who sent hilarious texts (I’m the oldest and they love to remind me).

From colleagues, who poked their heads into my office, stopped me in the hallway or sent emails.

From my boss, who excused my late arrival to work due to the morning’s festivities.

From friends—some I haven’t seen in years, some I’ve never even actually met—on Facebook.

And, best of all, from more than a few of you, who somehow learned about this birthday of mine, and remembered, just because you love Angels on Earth. You are my birthday angels!

Colleen Hughes is the editor-in-chief of Angels on Earth. She's been at Guideposts for 20 plus years, and lives in a Hudson River town with her two daughters and two cats.

I am so very happy and glad we have Angles on earth and want to thank you for being an editor for more than 20 years. I am 76 years old and had a stroke that took my right side away from me 4 years ago in January, but I can punch the letters on my computer with my left couple of fingers. I just love the stories I get on Angels and read Guidepost as much as the Bible. I use a walker, wheel-chair and cane to still go to Marine Corps visitations in my city of Louisville and as the Chaplain of the Detachment I find myself able to deliver prayer or talk to the family one on one getting my inspiration from Angels and Guideposts. Love in Christ. Bill Gividen
