I just finished "The Promise of Hope". I got it last week and could hardly put it down. I grew up in an alcoholic family, both of my parents were alcoholics and I've struggled with my relationship with my mother ever since. I believe I was able to forgive but not necessarily to accept. This book really helped me look at our relationship in a new light. I've been journaling on this and although, I'll still have to work on my perception of our relationship, I feel that I've been able to accept my mom for who she is. My father passed away over 20 years ago and I always felt he was at peace at last after he died. Maybe we can achieve that peace while still here on earth. With God's help and guidance. Thank you so much for your honesty,willingness,imagination,commitment,faith, forgiveness,acceptance, resilience, and most of all love of your readers. I've read Guideposts for years and have always found such comfort in the stories. C.B
