Jeremy Lin Believes in Mysterious Ways

I just had to share this great quote I heard today.

The NBA's New York Knicks have won 7 games in a row since elevating third-string point guard Jeremy Lin to the starting lineup. Lin's road to the Knicks was a long and winding one. Just a week ago, he didn't even have an apartment to call his own—he split time between sleeping on his brother's couch and crashing on the couch of a teammate. Before that, he'd been dropped by two teams, following a successful college career at Harvard that was ignored by nearly everyone (he wasn't chosen in the NBA draft). All the while, Lin kept faith that someday, he'd get the chance for his talent to shine.

Here's what Lin said after hitting a last-second, three-point shot to win the Knicks game against the Toronto Raptors on Valentine's Day:

“If you look back at my story, doesn't matter where you look, but God's fingerprints are all over the place. You can try to call it coincidence, but at the end of the day, there are 20, 30 things when you combine them all that had to happen at the right time in order for me to be here. That's why I call it a miracle.”

We've all had tough times, disappoinments, missed opportunities—but looking back, maybe we needed some of these twists and turns to happen in order to get us to a better place. I agree with Lin. These moments aren't just coincidence. They're something much more.

How about putting Jeremy Lin on the cover of your magazine?

Great inspiring story! I want my son to see role models like this instead the usual NBA players without the morals.
