Destined for Each Other

Welcome to the Mysterious Ways blog!

Each week, I’ll bring you true stories of miracles and incredible, spine-tingling moments that are more than mere coincidence: unlikely, unexpected, and entirely amazing.

Like the story I read today about Philip and Lisa Twamley, of Dublin, Ireland.

According to the Irish Mirror, Philip and Lisa met at a bar while they were on vacation in Spain in 1998. Philip took Lisa’s number, but she never expected to hear from him again. As it turned out, they were on the same flight home…and they’ve been together ever since. Today, they’re married and have two children.

But that’s not the amazing part.

Recently, Lisa asked her sister-in-law if she had any photos of Philip growing up. Her sister-in-law handed her a photo of 10-year-old Philip, on the first day of his summer vacation, posing on a ferry boat on a family trip to Wales. In the background was a little girl, sitting with her family.

“I just started screaming,” Lisa told the Irish Mirror, “I was in the background.”

A sign that these two were destined for each other, a decade before they knew it themselves.

I believe that God IS ever present in our day to day lives, and as I look back over my life, I can see that some of the choices which I have made have worked well. because I was sensitive to His leading, and some of the bad choices were made, because I was sensitive to my own leadings.

I live in the northern part of thee United States, and I have had some difficult experiences which caused me to have to depend on my unlined raincoat this winter. I wore extra sweaters under it, and a jacket when I could. However, the miracle lies in that God brought me through the winter without one cold, one sniffle, or any weather related problem.

I classified it as a miracle in my heart when the winter was over, and I sat back and realized that what God had done for me was far beyond the ordinary, as He brought me through the winter in such a manner.

It reminds me of the 23rd Psalm where He promises to go with us THROUGH the valleys, which is our assurance that we WILL make it through to the other side of whatever occurs in our lives, isn't it?
