A Prayer Service of Guideposts

Answered Prayers

It has been said there are three answers to our prayers: “yes,” “no” or “wait a while.”  However, underlying each and every answer is the silent promise, “I am here.”  Experience the power of God's love and feel the comfort of God’s presence in these true stories of answered prayer.

Last week I requested prayers for my minister's sister-in-law who was in a medically induced coma. She was discharged on Thursday, but still has a long road ahead. Thank you for bringing her to God and thank you to God for answering our prayers.

Last week I posted a prayer request for my husband and our family. He had just gotten diagnosed with a brain tumor and did not want me to confide in anyone for fear of how it could affect him professionally. We have two little boys and no family nearby, so I was extremely concerned about child care during the craniotomy and after-care which would be out of town. With the surgery scheduled for next week, pre-op papers completed, disability papers initiated, hotel booked by the hospital for my sons and me, and my mental prep for all of this including driving in a big city (I loathe driving at all), we got news we could barely believe. The imaging had been sent from our local hospital to the big city hospital where the craniotomy would take place as we sought the leading neurologist in our region of the country. He read the MRI imaging and determined that the local radiologist's report was incorrect. No tumor. No growth. No lesion. Nothing! 2 other neurologists reviewed the imaging and independently determined the same! No follow up or further imaging needed, according to leading experts. What a relief and weight off our shoulders. We still can't believe it. We both work in health care and a misdiagnosis of this magnitude is so rare. Thank God for this miracle and for all the prayer warriors who helped us through this when we could confide in no one. We are so thankful for the support we felt here.

I got a text yesterday from my daughter saying her husband passed the last board exam that he had to take. They will soon be in the process of moving to their new place where he found/accepted a job. These are all answers to our prayers! Thank you very much!

I asked for prayers earlier this year for my Grandson Hunter who was using meth. Our prayers were answered in the affirmative. Hunter has been drug free since July. I thank God daily for His constant vigilance.

After 3 1/2 years in an unfulfilling job I now have a new job that uses my talents and that I enjoy. I pray for continued success at it. At my age I am blessed to be employed. I still have many challenges but I thank God for life's many inexplicable blessings, knowing that faith in action will deliver me

Last month I called and spoke with a volunteer. I was requesting prayers for my daughter who had had a number of surgeries and was still in the hospital. The volunteer was very comforting and compassionate as she prayed with me. My daughter is home now, and although she is going to have a very long recuperation time, I give all the praise and glory to God for His steadfastness and healing touch.

On October 14 I prayed for assistance with my anxiety and depression. I was feeling that Jesus wasn't listening, but he was. Although I am not cured, each day I feel He is giving me the tools to cope. Thank you Dear Jesus! Thank you also for the many blessings that I have been granted. A special thanks for those who prayed for me online...it means a lot.
