Answered Prayers

It has been said there are three answers to our prayers: “yes,” “no” or “wait a while.”  However, underlying each and every answer is the silent promise, “I am here.”  Experience the power of God's love and feel the comfort of God’s presence in these true stories of answered prayer.

Over a year ago I made several requests as my marriage was in jeopardy. Sadly, last year my husband left and filed for divorce. It was just finalized last month. As I sat alone one night, I wondered why God hadn't answered my prayers last year when I had tried so hard to do the right things. Then I remembered what I had prayed for: that my husband wouldn't yell at me anymore, that the knot in my stomach would go away when it was time to go home, that our daughter would not grow up in such a tense, unhealthy household. All those prayers were answered. While I was, and continue to be, very sad as I still love the man I used to be married to, I realize that God did indeed answer all my prayers and then some. I'm not being yelled at every night for hours; I'm excited to go home at the end of the day instead of having a knot in my stomach that gets worse the closer I get to home; and my daughter is incredibly happy, even though she lives in two households. She doesn't witness Daddy yelling at Mommy and storming out of the house and Mommy crying. She is such a happy girl and I thank God for that. Thank you also to everyone who prayed. While I didn't realize at the time that it was God's answer, I do now and am so thankful for the support. Since last year I have submitted requests for prayer from time to time, not just for me but for family and friends. I'm humbly grateful to say that every time, the peace I have felt knowing people worldwide were praying helped me and my loved ones. Thank you for being here. Thank you to everyone who has posted their own answered prayers. When I'm having a bad day, I come here and read these and realize that God answers prayers, if we only look.

I prayed the buyers of our house would take the post inspection offer and they did...a little surprising, and thus clearly a testament to prayer!
