Answered Prayers

It has been said there are three answers to our prayers: “yes,” “no” or “wait a while.”  However, underlying each and every answer is the silent promise, “I am here.”  Experience the power of God's love and feel the comfort of God’s presence in these true stories of answered prayer.

I have previously requested prayer for MJL, a dear friend who has had breast cancer. Her first bout with it was 8 years ago, surgery (a lumpectomy) was performed; she went through chemotherapy and radiation and was cancer-free for 7 years. Then there was a recurrence that had spread. She has been undergoing chemo, which the oncologist says she was have to have the rest of her life. But, praise the Lord, all of the cancer cells are now gone except at the initial site! And for that we all thank God and His healing power. She is much improved and feels so much better, which is a blessing from heaven. Please help us to continue to pray for the total eradication of any sign of cancer - even at the original site! Thank you for your love and prayers.

My son is 18yo and his father died 5 yrs ago from cancer. My son Chris has struggled since then with depression, anger, poor relationships, low self esteem. I have been praying for him ongoing, putting prayer request on the Our Prayer web site as well as call the Guidepost pray request line often when he seems to not be doing well. I praise God, that each time I offer a request I can see the results miraculously soon after I call or write. I praise God for the Guidepost prayer line and for each prayer warrior who has aided me in keeping my son at the throne of grace in prayer. God bless you all!!

I was admitted to the hospital this past Sunday with an infection covering my heart that gave me severe chest pain that mimiced a heart attack. God healed me and I am home now. I had a root canal to day on Friday after the heart infection which the infected tooth caused and I was able to go through the procedure to correct that problem and I praise God for this.

We praise and thank you God for answering the prayer that the opening gifts over the phone birthday ritual with our daughter would go well today, and that she got to chat for a longish time that means so much to her without her father getting too impatient. Help her father to become more understanding about her brain driven need to talk a lot that's part of her ADD condition. I thank God in advance for the ideas He's been giving me about how to work out my need for getting my other work done at other times so doesn't eat into my editing time that also conflicts with her need to have more longish chats with me more often. I thank God in advance for helping our daughter heal in all the ways she needs to so she'll once again be able to form friendships and healthier ones this time so that she has others besides the three she does now to talk with. Only You God know who has the knowledge and solutions to what will heal her various problems, and we thank You in advance for guiding us to find these resources as well as for my husband to receive work (in his 70s) that will make possible paying for the extra professional care she needs that insurance does not cover as well as her living expenses until she is well enough to work again. We thank, just as we always ask, in Jesus Christ's name.

I have submitted prayer requests several times for my husband, who is battling an aggressive form of brain cancer. He has undergone brain surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy. Two weeks ago he had a second brain surgery, as it appeared the tumor had grown back very quickly. The outlook was bleak, but this week we received the amazing news that he has no active cancer at this time! It is nothing short of a miracle! Our oncologist says he has only seen this happen one other time in 20 years of practice. We have been fortunate to have hundreds of people praying for us throughout this journey, and we are so grateful for prayers answered. In addition, just before my husband's most recent surgery, nodules were discovered in my lung. I had a biopsy this week, and had the same prayer warriors praying for me. I found out today that I do not have cancer, and smiled when I saw today's Scripture quote on Our Prayer: "Oh Lord, my God, I cried out to You, and You healed me," (Psalm 30:2). Thank you for your prayers!

In March of 2007 my mother passed away suddenly at the age of 71.Less than a year later 11 months 3 weeks my father passed away .I have been on here several times to request prayer for my parents home to sell. Well it has been 3 1/2 years & we had to let it go at a low price but praise the lord we sold the house,my husband gave his life to God the 1 st week of June & we are in church everytime the doors are open.Just when you think things aren't going to work work out God opens a door..Don't give up,he tells us he will never leave us or forsake us & he stays true to his word.Yes it took 3 1/2 years but we learned a lot in that time, about God & life..
