A Prayer Service of Guideposts

Answered Prayers

It has been said there are three answers to our prayers: “yes,” “no” or “wait a while.”  However, underlying each and every answer is the silent promise, “I am here.”  Experience the power of God's love and feel the comfort of God’s presence in these true stories of answered prayer.

I prayed for my labor patient (I'm an RN) to have a nice birth, because she was psychotic (schizophrenic). It was her first baby and it ended up okay. She has issues as you can imagine and I hope they resolve. Thanks for praying for me that day.

Last week I posted a prayer request for my husband and our family. He had just gotten diagnosed with a brain tumor and did not want me to confide in anyone for fear of how it could affect him professionally. We have two little boys and no family nearby, so I was extremely concerned about child care during the craniotomy and after-care which would be out of town. With the surgery scheduled for next week, pre-op papers completed, disability papers initiated, hotel booked by the hospital for my sons and me, and my mental prep for all of this including driving in a big city (I loathe driving at all), we got news we could barely believe. The imaging had been sent from our local hospital to the big city hospital where the craniotomy would take place as we sought the leading neurologist in our region of the country. He read the MRI imaging and determined that the local radiologist's report was incorrect. No tumor. No growth. No lesion. Nothing! 2 other neurologists reviewed the imaging and independently determined the same! No follow up or further imaging needed, according to leading experts. What a relief and weight off our shoulders. We still can't believe it. We both work in health care and a misdiagnosis of this magnitude is so rare. Thank God for this miracle and for all the prayer warriors who helped us through this when we could confide in no one. We are so thankful for the support we felt here.
