A Prayer Service of Guideposts

Answered Prayers

It has been said there are three answers to our prayers: “yes,” “no” or “wait a while.”  However, underlying each and every answer is the silent promise, “I am here.”  Experience the power of God's love and feel the comfort of God’s presence in these true stories of answered prayer.

I cannot thank you enough for you prayers for our son on his second Pre-calculus test last week! What an encouragement for him after the discouraging score he received on his first test! He received a 96% on his second test, and we couldn't be more excited for him! Thank you for your prayers for his encouragement. We are truly grateful!

This week our daughter was married. Her present father-in-law days before the wedding became very ill, had angiogram and then surgery. He not only survived the surgery, but at the last minute felt strong enough to be there for the wedding ceremony (24 hours after coming home)and part of the meal. Truly it was a most blessed day! Thank you Lord, and thank you all for praying. We could not asked for this much, but again the Lord gave us more than we asked for, and we give Him the Praise!

I asked you all to pray this past week for a problem I was having with a bully landlord. I can't believe it, but he actually sent an apology e-mail completely out of the blue. He has been awful for 4 months and with your prayers I got some reprieve. Thank you for the prayers. Going to submit a health prayer to you now.

On Friday night I submitted a prayer request for Lindsey. Her mother said today "praise God, it was a miracle that Lindsey survived what she went thru Friday night! There is no other explanation." It was called a hypertensive crisis. The med she was on was the VERY LAST ONE they could use, short of shock therapy, to treat her depression. For two yrs they had exhausted all other drug possibilities and nothing worked. When this episode happened Friday night, it sent her in to seizures, causing the brain to go thru 'shock therapy' naturally!! So now Lindsey is on NO meds and we are asked to pray that this might be Gods way of healing her! If so, all praise and glory goes to God alone and this will be Lindsey's testimony as she did not want to live with the depression she dealt with before! The Dr said he doesn't think she will even need to be on seizure meds since this was a med reaction to food!! So please pray this will be a FULL healing for Lindsey, who wants to be, of all things, a psychiatric physicians assistant!!!

The God is real and with us if we ask sincerely. Yesterday, my daughter is at the edge of losing her control, but still went to roller-skating with her friends. I was worried and after she left, I read some messages sent by Guideposts, I felt the comfort and calm down. Then, I was listening the Bible audio the whole evening while I cleaned our fish tank. During the whole night, I could feel God's existence and the incredible peace given by HIM. at 10pm, my daughter came back home safely and she told me she had such a wonderful time, everyone was so nice to her. I knew that the wonder done by God. Let us praise our heavenly father-his lover is unconditional and powerful. Amen

My kitten was stuck up a tree and I was afraid that no one would help me. The fire department tried but he kept climbing higher. By the third day I was frantic, and the fall temperatures were getting lower, at night down into the low 30's degree F. I had requested prayer from Our Prayer and we decided to buy a large ladder so that we could reach the kitten but the hardware store owner had a better idea. He called the city of Indianola and they sent one of their bucket utility trucks and they rescued my cat in no time at all. Thank you for praying.
