What Is RealTime Prayer?
RealTime Prayer (RTP) is a way for OurPrayer volunteers to pray online with people at their moment of need. RTP volunteers pray with a person requesting prayer using instant messages (IM) through the OurPrayer website.

How Does It Work?
A person requesting prayer shares his or her need with a volunteer within a private IM session. The identities of both are limited to first names. The prayer volunteer reads the prayer request, lifts the need to the Lord and writes their prayer in the IM text box. On the other end of the IM, the requester may pray along with the volunteer in the IM or choose to remain silent and speak privately to God.

What Are the Benefits of RealTime Prayer?
The personal one-on-one prayer experience of RealTime Prayer affirms the power of two agreeing in prayer. Prayer requestors are comforted in knowing that someone cares and is standing with them in prayer. As a volunteer, you will be fulfilled by the rewarding experience of intercessory prayer. When you pray on another’s behalf, you experience the blessings and grace of God’s love.

How Would I Learn to Do RealTime Prayer?
OurPrayer offers brief training to guide you through the process step by step. It’s easy to learn and an uplifting experience that will strengthen your prayer life.

What Do I Need to Do?
Pray. Ask the Lord if He is calling you to be part of the RealTime Prayer team. If you feel led to become a RTP volunteer, please call or email me. All you need to volunteer is a willingness to pray for others, access to the Internet and an hour a week to devote to prayer.
