Lack of sleep is one of the main reasons why people are so tired today. So, it stands to reason that sleeping more is one of the best ways to boost your energy.

Here’s how to get more Zzzs.

1. Do your own energy experiments.
First, determine how much sleep you need to feel your best. You can do this by going to bed a little earlier each night to see how much sleep makes you feel the most rested in the morning.

2. Get a TiVo
Tape your favorite late-night shows, and get the sleep you need to operate at peak performance.

3. Make your sleep time a ritual.
This will help you go to bed at the same time each night.

4. Power nap.
If you don't get adequate sleep the night before, snooze for 20 or 30 minutes.  Research has shown that power naps re-energize you during the day. Research also shows that any longer than 30 minutes can actually make you more tired.
