Believe You'll Recieve

Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.
– Matthew 7:7

This is a very practical technique of prayer. It works amazingly. One reason we do not get answers to our prayers is that we ask, but do not really expect to receive. We are expert askers, but inexpert receivers. This spiritual formula tells us to ask and then immediately conceive of ourselves as receiving. For example, to be free from fear, ask the Lord to free you. Then believe that He has immediately done so. The minute you express your faith by sincerely asking Him for a blessing and believe your prayer is answered, your prayer is answered.

Years ago I discovered some of Dr. Norman Vincent Peales's excerpts which make such excellent devotional lessons for church club meetings. They always stressed being positive, even though they were from different works of his. I'm wondering if you have any collection that I can purchase with these excerpts. The ones that I happened to print include: How To Build Friendships, Improve Your Prayer Life, A Wonderfl New Year, and When Faced With Grief. They usually had numbered steps, suggestions, etc. I hope you have such a collection available.

Hi Mazie. Dr. Peale published many books, but I don't know of one that fits your description precisely. Click the Shop link in the upper right corner of this page and do a search on his name, and you'll see some of his titles (note: many of the ones listed will be audio books, not print). Other of Dr. Peale's books are available from other sources, too, like Amazon: http://dld.bz/bP9hF -- and from used book stores, both online and walk-in stores.
