Christmas in Jerusalem is truly unique, with holiday decorations representing monotheistic religions of the region. The Christian Quarter outdoes itself every year with a display of angelic lights strung across every home and shop, and garlands woven from Arizona cypress trees.
Europa-Park, Rust, Germany
With millions of visitors every year, Europa-Park is the largest theme park in Germany. Many German resorts close during the winter, but Europa-Park dazzles its guests by turning into a winter wonderland. Along with extravagant holiday shows, the park decks its halls with colored lights, Christmas trees and magnificent angels, like this one.
Notre-Dame Basilica, Montreal, Canada
The Notre-Dame Basilica is known for being extravagant. Its azure ceilings are crossed with glittering golden supports, and stained glass alights every corner with rainbows. At Christmastime, white angels made of hundreds of tiny lights glow in each pointed arch of the basilica’s entrance.
