Is God Our Direct Source of Light?

Are we staying in the Lord’s direct source of light, the Holy Bible, which fuels the growth of our lives and helps us thrive?

There are so many neat creatures to photograph at the Georgia Aquarium. In an earlier post, I wrote about the cute Southern sea otters. The otter I photographed appeared like he was praying and thanking Jesus for his food.

I did a little research on photographing the sea creatures through the aquarium glass. I could not use a flash because the flash would show in the photo. My camera had to be perpendicular to the glass and my lens hood needed to be on the glass to make the images better and keep out any light.

The jellyfish in the photograph is called a lagoon jelly. It gets its name because it lives in lagoons, harbors and bays. No, it does not have an iridescent blue tint, which I guess is caused from the way the tank is lit. The jellyfish is greenish-brown in color, but what I think is neat are its white spots.

According to the Georgia Aquarium’s website, the lagoon jelly “swims in huge swarms to stay in the direct sunlight, because the sun’s rays fuel the growth of the algae the jelly thrives on.”

There is a huge spiritual implication for us as Christians to think about in that statement. Are we staying in the Lord’s direct source of light, the Holy Bible, which fuels the growth of our lives and helps us thrive? Wow…what a thought!
