Go behind the scenes of our photo shoot with Danita LaShelle Jones, her husband, Paul, and their four children. In Danita's story in the June 2017 issue of Guideposts, she shares how faith and prayer helped her deal with difficult medical news upon the birth of her two youngest kids, twins Hope and Caleb.
Danita LaShelle Jones and her husband, Paul, already had two kids, Ethan and Layna, when they learned that Danita was expecting twins.
Danita knew twins would be a challenge, but as she says, "I hoped they'd be a double blessing as well."
Hope and Caleb arrived a month early and spent two weeks in the NICU, and it was there that Danita and Paul learned that Caleb was hearing-impaired. And when he was still a toddler, it was determined that he also had a form of epilepsy.
Health challenges such as these can be daunting to any family, but Danita relied upon her faith and her frequent prayers to see the family through. "I’ve always called on God," says Danita.
Danita's prayers were answered: Medication helps Caleb deal with his epilepsy and his hearing has miraculously improved.
