Every February, Jerry Grymek attends to guests’ needs at the Hotel Pennsylvania at all hours. But not just any guests—dogs. Canine competitors of the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show stay at the well-known New York City hotel and Jerry—known as the Dog Concierge—is on hand to make sure their stay is first-rate. He welcomes the owners and handlers and their show pups, offering five-paw service and amenities. Sounds pretty pawsome to us. Read more stories like this in All Creatures magazine.
Jerry welcomes show competitors to the dog floor of the hotel, which includes a relieving area, space to play and the dog spa.
Jerry’s on call to welcome the dogs, their owners and handlers and make sure everything is running smoothly.
Dogs can be groomed during their stay, which is especially helpful when New York City weather is unpredictable in February.
He not only works hard to make sure all the canine guests are cared for but also has fun doing it! Jerry says he loves seeing so many different dogs in one place.
The dog spa at the Hotel Pennsylvania keeps the show dogs looking their best as they participate in different events during Westminster Week.
Special pup treats are always on hand. Jerry says he also helps owners place special takeout orders for their dogs, like pizza or hamburgers.
Running the dog operation at the Hotel Pennsylvania is hard work and involves long hours, but Jerry dresses the part and enjoys this special time each year.
