Guideposts Military Outreach

Guideposts just celebrated our 64th year of providing free inspirational magazines, booklets, books and resources to all branches of the Armed Forces, Veterans Administration personnel and loved ones. By partnering with military chaplains around the world, Guideposts ministers to veterans and soldiers to help them through extremely challenging times.

“A soldier can feel depressed, angry, afraid.” says Chaplain Samuel J.T. Boone, U.S. Army Retired.  “He might have lost a buddy to enemy fire or received a Dear John letter from his girl back home. He can pick up Guideposts magazine and discover, ‘Hey, I’m not alone.’”

Guideposts Military Outreach was started by Dr. Norman Vincent Peale decades ago as a way to help encourage soldiers serving in World War II.  Over the years, the effort has grown leaps and bounds. Guideposts currently distributes over 1,000,000 booklets, 700,000 copies of Guideposts magazine, 53,000 Daily Guideposts, and thousands of personally signed Christmas cards to uplift, inspire and sustain our veterans and troops.

“Support of Guideposts Military Outreach is a tangible way for you to thank our soldiers and veterans,” says Retired Chaplain (Major General) G.T. Gunhus, "and ensure that those who are giving so much to their country have at their fingertips the faith-filled reading material that will inspire them, provide hope in their times of darkness and despair, and enable them to feel the presence of God in their stressful lives.”

As more Americans risk their lives to serve our country around the world, U.S. Military chaplains have increased their requests for Guideposts publications. To help Guideposts reach more veterans and soldiers in need, please consider a tax-deductible donation.

In addition to the military effort, Guideposts also distributes inspirational material to hospitals, hospices and nursing homes; to churches, senior citizen centers and VA hospitals; to lonely shut-ins and families recovering from catastrophic loss, as well as homeless shelters, prisons, and other places. If you’re a part of an organization that you feel would benefit from Guideposts inspirational booklets, please click here and learn how you can be a distribution partner.

Every day more than 85,000 people are impacted by the positive, faith-filled messages of Guideposts Outreach publications. Learn how you can help us touch more lives through the hope-affirming and life-changing power of our inspirational booklets, books and magazines.
