A Message of Hope from Melissa Roberson: Front Porch Respite

Guideposts’ blog editor shares how a few moments spent on her front porch, watching the world go by and listening to the sounds, bring her solace.

Guideposts Video: Inspiring True Stories

Hey everyone, it’s Melissa Roberson, I edit the bloggers for Guideposts, and I just wanted to share with y’all, from where I sit, in Taylor, Mississippi, population 300 and something, that, in this time of big news, big and scary news, I’m finding solace in the small moments.

And, for me, it’s to come out on my front porch a couple times a day and just sit and take it in, and watch a neighbor go by or listen to the rooster in the barn across that field. He’s on lunch break right now, he’s usually going pretty well, and there are chimes in the yard across the way.

It just helps me to come and sit, and listen to the dogs bark or whatever happens, it’s, it just, it helps settle me. So I hope y’all have a small spot where you can go and sit and find comfort and take care, everyone. Stay safe.
