This glimpse of heaven has stayed with her every day of her life.
Recently I received a note about the death of a woman’s grandfather whom she loved very much. She explained that he was a simple man who lived by the land and had a deep faith and a very loving heart. It seems he died very suddenly of a massive heart attack and it was only after his death that she realized she had never told him how much she loved him.
A year later, an angel came to her in her sleep and told her there was someone who wanted to see her. She was frightened, but the angel told her not to be, and something in the voice comforted her, so she agreed to see the visitor. A very bright light came into the room and she saw her grandfather standing in the doorway. She ran to him for one of those all-consuming hugs that you just know are heartfelt.
Through her tears she told him how much she loved him and he explained that he had always known and that he loved her too.
Although her grandfather was in his eighties when he died, he stood tall and straight and appeared to be handsome and much younger. He told her of many things she had ahead of her in life; she wanted to stay with him, but she realized she had to go to experience the things he said would be in her future.
That dream of her grandfather has guided this woman throughout her life, and her glimpse of heaven remains with her on a daily basis.
