When we accept and understand God’s love for us, we are changed forever.

Love descended on earth through the birth of the holy child–this is the true message of Christmas. The Gospel author writes that an angel appeared to the shepherds in the field of Bethlehem and said, "Today in the town of David, a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord."
Little did they know, the baby would become the symbol and presence of love.
On the night of Jesus’ birth, God said to all humanity, to you and me, “you matter, you are valued, you are important.” There were other ways He could have expressed His love, but this was the only way we could fully understand just how much we mean to Him.
God knows our faults, sins and shortcomings and for these very reasons, God loves us unconditionally. There is nothing we could do to make Him love us any more, or less.
At times we may feel alone and wonder if we are valued, misunderstood or noticed by others. Yet, in our worst of times, we are loved by God. He knows our value better than anyone, and when we accept and understand God’s love for us, we are changed forever.
This understanding allows us to value and love ourselves, and shapes how we live and express our love to others.
When the angel said, "I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all people," he was correct. Christmas is about love; God’s love for us. This Christmas let us accept God's love and share our love with others.
What does Christmas mean to you? Please share.
Lord, thank you for your gift of love through the birth of Jesus; May we accept your gift and love others as You love us.
