Sweaty palms, heart palpitations, chronic worrying, intense fear—these are just a few ways that anxiety can prevent you from living the life of peace that God intends for you. Forty million adults struggle with anxiety, but there is hope. I’m Ty’Ann Brown, and I’d like to tell you about three spiritual remedies for anxiety.

First, ask for help. Proverbs encourages us to seek out life-giving counsel. If anxiety is getting in the way of you living our best life, seek out a mental health professional who can help.

Second, practice affirmation. Affirmation is a prayer that declares the promises of God over your life. Proverbs 3:24 says, “When you lie down, you will not be afraid. When you rest, your sleep will be peaceful.” When you’re starting to feel anxious, recite a scripture that helps you to remember God’s design for your life.

Finally, let fear motivate you to go deeper in faith. Psalm 27 says, “The Lord is the strength of my life. Of whom shall I be afraid?” Remember, God is on your side and stronger than the thing that’s causing you to fear.
