Cheers!

The Angels on Earth editor-in-chief shares her positive New Year’s resolutions.

One week into 2010 and I’m off to a good start on my resolutions!

This year I intend to eat better, exercise more and think positive—to do my best to keep a healthy mind and body.

I’ve started a weight-bearing exercise class (good for the bones) at the YMCA and love it. And I’ve added a few leafy greens to my diet (it’s a start for me, a former peas-only person in the greens department).

And as for positive thinking, I look to Dick Clark for inspiration. I was amazed by his appearance on his “New Year’s Rockin’ Eve” television show. I’ve watched that ball drop for years, and was so sad to see Dick Clark’s limitations after his stroke a few years ago. But everybody’s favorite host of New Year’s Eve hasn’t missed a celebration since.

This year I thought he’d really turned a corner and had his old spark back. I imagine all the therapy he’s been through, all the hard work he’s put in, and all the positive thinking that got him through it.

So here’s to a healthy mind and body in 2010. Cheers!
