Everyday Angels: A Good Catch

Even the strongest wind can’t blow something past an angel.

Hi. I’m Colleen Hughes, editor in chief of Angels on Earth, where the true story of an everyday angel from Roz Reef, Edmond, Oklahoma.

Angels come to us every day, as a neighbor, an unexpected rescuer, a kind stranger, or a loyal pet. Listen now to a story of just such an everyday angel.

The wind was blowing so hard one spring day that it rocked Roz’s car as she drove back from the grocery store. At home, when she went to the mailbox for the mail, the wind whipped her hair and [INAUDIBLE] around. She clutched the envelopes tightly until she got inside, then made several trips to the car to unload the grocery bags.

Just as she set the last one on the counter, the doorbell rang. It was a man she didn’t know. I found this down the street, he said, handing her an envelope. It has your address on it. Roz thanked him, closed the door, and opened the stray piece of mail. Inside was her tax refund check. Even the strongest wind can’t blow something past an angel.
